HOCHIMINH [March 01, 2024] \u2013BW Industrial Development Joint Stock Company<\/strong> (the \u201cCompany\u201d or \u201cBW\u201d), Vietnam\u2019s leading logistics and industrial real estate developer has announced the appointment of Gene King as its Chief Investment Officer, effective 1 March 2024.
The newly created position marks the inauguration of BW\u2019s fund raising and fund management business. After 6 years of growth from 2018, BW will be launching its namesake private equity vehicles, in both growth and core strategy, to cope with the ever-surging demand from supply chain diversification and investment appetite for Vietnam industrial assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. King will be based in HCMC to oversee all equity-related strategies from capital raising and JV partnership, to fund management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. King brings to the table 19 years of experience in cross-border property development and M&As. He has been stationed in HCMC since 2016, and his strong presence and active market engagement have built him profound industry relationships in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before joining BW, he was Managing Director of Ally Logistic Property Vietnam (ALP Vietnam), a Taiwanese industrial property powerhouse, covered Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. He served as Principal of Cathay Private Equity\u2019s SEA Logistics Infrastructure Partnership during the tenure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. King<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Prior to setting foot in Vietnam, he had been Senior Investment Manager at Fubon Financial, the largest financial conglomerate in Taiwan, where he spearheaded the very early overseas property investments of Taiwanese insurance fund in New York, Paris, London, and HCMC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. King has an M.S. in Real Estate Development (MSRED) from Columbia University, an M.Arch from Tunghai University, and a B.A. in Land Economics from National Taipei University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He speaks fluent Mandarin, Hokkien, and Japanese, and has been working consistently to improve his Vietnamese.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
